Advance Nauru – Nauru Rehabilitation Corporation

Due to population growth, mining and climate change, Nauru – the world’s smallest republic – has run out of space. Nauru is launching its most ambitious project yet, the Nauru Rehabilitation Corporation. Ninety per cent of the land on Nauru needs to be rehabilitated after phosphate mining, which could take more than a century, however rising sea levels means there is no other option. The Government of Nauru is working on a plan, but needs greater involvement by partners and the international community to ensure long term development and sustainability for Nauru.
