Theme and Logo competition for Nauru’s 50th Independence Day Anniversary
The selected entry will be used to brand all official anniversary items and events such as print and digital publications, merchandise etc.
Persons may enter separate entries in either the logo competition or theme competition or may enter both.
RULES OF THE COMPETITION
Separate entries can be submitted in either the theme competition or logo competition, or both. There is no limit to the number of entries which may be submitted by the same individual.
The contest is open to Nauru citizens only and in all age groups.
The theme must not be more than 10 words.
It should reflect the blessings of God and the development of Nauru.
All submitted work must be the original work of the entrant.
Flexibility is the key requirement, including the need to resize easily and to look good in black and white as well as colour. The final version of the logo will need to be suitable for high quality printing.
The logo must contain the numeral “50” and may use any form or style of design in colour, grayscale, and black and white.

Only original entries will be considered. The winning entries will become the sole property of government. Government reserves the right to make any necessary alterations to the winning theme and logo for proper formatting-related purposes without the consent of the winning entrant(s).
SELECTION OF WINNING ENTRIES
Judging will be done by the Government 50th Anniversary executive committee.
The winning entrant(s) will be duly notified of their success as well as the date when the prize(s) will be handed over.
The 50th anniversary executive committee will evaluate all entries based on the following criteria (though other criteria may be considered):
Relevance – the entry should be consistent with government goals and values.
Originality – the entry should be creative, innovative, and the original work of the entrant.
Aesthetic Quality (logo) – the entry should command attention, display visual balance and colour coordination, and contain elements which work together for a unified and appealing design.

Conveys an inspirational future of Nauru
Best Logo Winner: $1000
Best Theme Winner: $1000
CLOSING DATE OF ENTRIES AND CONTACT
All entries must be submitted to Ophelia Caleb Vice Chair of 50th Anniversary, Theme & Logo Sub Committee, President’s Office before close of business on Friday 28 April 2017.
